New York Fashion Week S/S 2012. Day 5.

Carolina Herrera's show made my heart smile with that great, green sparrow print. The geometric almost art deco print, detailing simple, black, white or red dresses looked perfect done no the beaded evening looks. The cut of the trousers were perfection, along with the jackets, both had an almost sporty feel yet still not loosing it's expensive appeal. The silk scarves with the sparrow print I can see myself wearing for an add of drama. The look on Jourdan Dunn, was young, Herrera took beading to an organza tank and dotted silk skirt for an elegant evening look. But what really did it was the finale gowns in canary yellow, greens and the light green silk jersey number on Karmen Pedaru with the belt.

There was no lack of sex appeal at Betsey Johnson, for spring the designer was inspired by Burlesque. And it was evident with the skintight dresses that hugged in all the right places even on a non model's body. The prints were definitely Betsy, flowers, leopard and skulls. I especially adored the lingerie inspired skull and leopard rompers. the white biker jacket look take away the sheer white dress and wear the jacket with a great pair of ripped jeans and you have a downtown girl's uniform. Also fun was the dress with betsy's face and her name printed all over it. Betsy stays true to her aesthetic and never fails.

I was expecting Rachel Zoe's collection to be everything Rachel, exactly what she wears, all black and wide legged trousers. But there was one all black look, and one wide leg trouser. Instead traousers were straight leg and stopped right above the ankle. The stylist didn't exactly give anything new as far as trends, but you saw her great take on styling with the way the looks were put together. The blazers and big junky cardigan over evening dresses. There were one shouldered rompers, and mocha coloured shorts and pants. But my favorite look was the all white, with the sheer, silk blouse with high waisted skirt. I could so see it on Florence belting out dog days are over.-your Dealer.
